

데보라 김 biography
Deborah Kim is a composer, performer and Motion Graphic Score designer whose works focus on the correlation between the visual and sound. Originally from South Korea, Deborah composes with a diverse palette drawn from classical harmonies, jazz, electroacoustic music inspired by Traditional Korean rhythms.
Kim received a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the University of Sydney, where she developed the Motion Graphics Scores entitled, “Cognitive Sound Image," electro-interactive installations and sonic visualisations for Janggu (traditional Korean drum) to facilitate traditional Korean music one step closer to the contemporary audience.
In collaboration with Dr Ivan Zavada (USYD), Kim performed Network music performances at the ISEA Conference and Beijing-MUSICACOUSTICA Festival with Janggu and her motion graphics score compositions in 2013. Kim received the Grand Prize from the “Ministry of Unification Minister’s Award” in Korea in 2015. Kim performed her composition entitled, "Han:geul for Janggu and Motion Graphics Score" at the ICMC 2018 in Daegu, South Korea.
